.GOV.NG is a cctld (Country Code Top Level Domain) restricted for Government Organizations in Nigeria. It can only be registered by Government agencies, MDA's, Local Goverment, and Federal Government's in Nigeria.

You'll need to provide some documentation to establish that you're a regulated/legal Nigerian government organization in order to register a.gov.ng domain.

You must complete the following procedures in order to register a.gov.ng domain:

1) Find and register your domain name: Check to see if the gov.ng domain you wish to register is available, then order it. You can check availability here
2) Complete your order by paying for the domain name.
3) Meet all of the requirements and submit all of your documents:

Please take note that GOV.NG is a limited domain, and in order to activate it, you must provide us the required documentation.

a) Obtain a letter of authorization from the ministry or agency that is requesting the domain name.

b) Mention the domain's administrative and technical contact persons/names and addresses in the letter. The contact person should be a permanent ministry employee, not a tenured employee.

4) We will submit your documents for approval to the.NG Registry:

We'll send your registration to NIRA after you send us the documents (.NG domain Registry). The request is then sent to NITDA (National Information Technology Development Agency) for approval and verification.

The letter needs to be scanned and emailed to info@sternhost.com as an attachment in GIF, PNG, JPEG, JPG or PDF format. The domain application will be verified directly with the entity applying for the domain.
